BEN Jones Jr. won the Amigos Golf Club’s September Ace of the Month Tournament, which was held on Sept. 3 and 17 at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
His best performance was seen during the qualifying round on Sept. 3 when he cleared the course with a gross of 73 — the best score of the day. With a handicap of 9, his net score was 64.
The ace round on Sept. 17 proved to be a bit tougher as the wind and weather played a factor. Jones shot a gross of 82, which gave him a net score of 73, a net total of 137, and the September Ace title.
Jones also led the par 3 list in the optional play for hole #3 while Ben Duenas topped hole #7, Frank Ermitanio ruled hole #13, and Ed Manglona reigned on hole #17. Each won $140.
The October qualifier was held on Sunday, Sept. 24 while the ace round is set for Oct. 8, Sunday. Both tournaments will be held at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort.
