AS the CNMI Women’s Golf Association began its new season, Bennet Seman took the spotlight in its first monthly tournament with a net score of 71 at the Coral Ocean Resort golf course on Saturday.
With summer approaching, several CWGA members were already on a break, which boosted the chances of Seman, a returning member, to start the season with a win.
Seman were among those who struggled a bit on the front nine, shooting a gross of 50. The back nine proved to be equally tough as she finished with a gross of 49 for a total gross score of 99.
But Seman sported a handicap of 30, which gave her a net score of 69 and the top spot in the May tournament.
In second place was Hyun Sonny, who shot a gross of 39 on the front and 44 on the back nine for a gross total of 83. Supported by a handicap of 12, her net score was 71.
In third place was Sae Hee Kim, who shot 42 and 43 for a total gross of 85. Aided by a handicap of 11, her net score was 74.
