THE boys high school division semifinal matches of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY24-25 will resume today, Tuesday, at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

Before winter break, SIS V bested their sibling team, SIS JV, 8-1, to acquire their fourth win of the season on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

SIS V established dominance right from the start as they found their footing within the first few minutes of the opening half. After just a few attempts, they were rewarded with their first goal at the fifth minute mark courtesy of Ian Song to take the lead.

SIS V added four more goals. William Sosa maintained the pressure as he led the next onslaught, sinking two goals at the 10th and 12th minute marks while teammates Taiga Scoggins and Theo Joab joined the fray with a goal each  at the 14th and 22nd minute marks to further widen the gap, 5-0.

Before the halftime ended, SIS JV managed to break the silence with a goal by Yi Sui to cut the lead, 1-5.

SIS JV tried to ride the momentum in the second half but could only minimize damage rather than give it as they were left silence once again. Although their defense improved, they still could not stop the bleeding as SIS V’s Scoggins, Casey Chambers, and Joab squeezed in three more goals to secure the win, 8-1.

MHS V vs KHS

Sharing a similar victory was MHS V, which defeated KHS, 8-1.

The first half had both teams nearly as equals with MHS V holding a slight lead, 2-1.

However, MHS V was able to gain the distance in the second half with a flurry of goals to ease past KHS and triumph.

Tyler Omelau led the highlight reel with three goals (at the 13th, 41st and 61st minute marks) and a hat-trick. Also scoring were Paul Lizama (25th, 58th), Zhi Xiang Lin (48th), Takeru Jim (62nd), and Jack Raho (68th).
