Buraot’s Gil Gapor and Angelo Fernando couldn’t stand a chance against the speed of Atalig’s Bon Tamayo and Budz Camacho in the fourth quarter. Already behind in the game, the Buraots struggled to keep up while the Ataligs pushed farther ahead.
Gapor and teammate P. Simoy dumped three jumpers at first but later lost the ball to Tamayo, who struck a three-pointer in the final minutes of the game. Buraot’s Nick Swaim intercepted a pass from Camacho but missed the basket, leaving the ball in Tom Santos’ hands.
After a barrage of jump shots from Jessie Mina, the Ataligs had no worries in the latter half of the game, especially without Buraot’s Sablan in the game.
Camacho swiftly struck his lay ups, earning six points in the fourth quarter. Tamayo scored the highest in the game with 18 points, 12 of which came from the first half.
