Captain Morgans did not tally losses in three matches. The team won in its preliminary games against Sureshanks and Gil Fever – the only two teams it has been unable to beat during the regular season.
Later in the day, Captain Morgans advanced to the finals and pit against Greg & Mel’s Friends.
GMF booters came out second in the game as Captain Morgans prevented the team from getting inside the goal.
Devils Advocates landed on the third spot, after booting out Gil Fever.
In another level match, Sureshanks defeated Deaniacs.
According to Rio Sawhill, one of the organizers of the event, “One of the most enjoyable aspects of the co-ed league was seeing first-time players of all ages learn and improve their soccer skills over the past few months.”
He added that the last regular games of the fall season were supposed to be held this week, but some players felt that a tournament to officially end the games will be a welcome idea.
Sawhill also said that the entire day of the tournament “was an embodiment of the fun aspect that the co-ed league represents.”
There were over 70 players who joined in the games.
The end-of-the-season soccer tourney was organized by Angelo Villagomez.
