Carey’s race will consist of three different courses, which include a mountain bike race, road race, and kids’ duathlon. All courses will start and finish at Pau Pau Beach. The MTB race will be going through the water tank area, down to Kimikaze, and through the Autobahn, Grotto, and Banzai trails. The road bike race will run through Bird Island and the Banzai trail only.
The kids’ duathlon will include short runs along the beach, and will include a bike ride in the parking lot area.
Registration for all events will start at 6:30 am and the race starts at 7 am. Registration will also include a $10 entry fee for adults and $5 for children. Helmets are required for all participants.
The fundraiser will help Mieko Carey for the 2010 Xterra World Championships in Maui, Hawaii, which is set for October 24.
