CNMI reaps gold in Micro Games

This was a team Competition which meant each country had to play nine games and if a country won five out of nine games they are the winners. There were five countries who participated and CNMI beat them all and took the Gold medal home. Gold went to the CNMI, Silver went to Palau, and Bronze went to Guam.

First day of the competition in the morning, CNMI was pegged against Pohnpei, CNMI defeated Pohnpei 9-0.  In the afternoon of the same day, CNMI challenged Kosrae, CNMI dominated over Kosrae 9-0. During the Second day in the morning, CNMI went up against Palau.

But Palau was no match for team CNMI once again dominated the scored boards 9-0. In the afternoon of the same day with the final game, CNMI was pegged up against Guam and team CNMI breezed through with a whopping 9-0 score again.

Along With the gold medals won by the CNMI Table Tennis team, In the Men’s 5K open water Rezne Wong of team CNMI took gold home along with Staal Kailan also from the CNMI team brought silver home, and Kensuke Kimura also from team CNMI won the bronze medal.

In the men’s tennis single division gold went to Todd Montgomery of team CNMI, silver to Peter Loyola, and bronze to Jeff Race. In the singles for women Kana Aikawa of team CNMI won gold. For the women’s doubles in tennis Kana Aikawa and Mayuko Arriola reaped gold also.

In the Long distance 20k canoe race team event, team CNMI proudly brought bronze home while team Palau won gold and team Pohnpei got silver.

For today’s line up, team CNMI is pegged against team Kosrae to battle it out for bronze in the baseball category.

On Tuesday’s line-up CNMI’s basketball team will battle it out with team Guam for gold at the Palau National Gymnasium.
