CPA players pose for a group photo after winning a game in the 2024 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League at the Ada gym.
CPA continued their rise in the rankings of the 2024 R&J Wine and Liquor Inter-Government/Business League, easily securing their ninth win by trouncing CHCC, 104-55, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium on Wednesday night.
The star of the show was CPA’s Greg Deleon Guerrero, who stayed efficient throughout the entire game.
Deleon Guerrero found his rhythm in the opening quarter as he led the onslaught with an all-around performance through fast-break finishes, and-one plays, and from beyond the arc, contributing 14 points to give his team a double-digit lead, 30-11.
CHCC fought back with all their might, but they struggled to break through CPA’s defense, often forced to take contested shots instead of creating open looks.
Each missed attempt gave CPA more scoring opportunities as David Camacho took over the second period with 10 points — including four consecutive buckets — to further stretch the deficit.
In the third quarter, Deleon Guerrero picked up where he left off with another double-digit contribution as his CPA led comfortably, 90-37.
CHCC’s biggest run came during the fourth and final quarter with James Phillips and Alain Nunez in the frontline, but they could only do so much before bowing down to CPA, 55-104.
