Dolorina Panuelo blasted with six RBIs helping CUC take the lead in the second and third inning and finished off the Proas with her go-ahead single in the fifth for their 10-9 win.
She also struck out three and gave up 12 hits and nine runs.
Fielders of both teams went precise keeping each other scoreless in the first inning.
CUC Ladies took a one-run advantage in the second inning with Panuelo hitting a run-scoring triple, and Evelyn Kani, Bobby Norita and Jenny Palacios hitting singles and scoring runs.
Jenny Palacios and Mel Camacho each hit a single.
PSS 19, PIC 14
In Men’s Division, Public School System also kicked off their bid to survive pounding Pacific Island Club in the final inning to secure their victory, 19-14.
PIC took the early lead in the first inning with a single hit and base on ball, but the PSS batsmen bludgeoned them with relentless base hits in the second inning to tie the score.
The PIC boys pulled away in the third with three more runs but PSS’ Sim Frank, Jeff Isaac and Derrick Aughenbaugh rallied to get even again each hitting run-scoring doubles.
Dustin Quitano had four RBIs and hit one double during the decisive run of the final inning.
Allan Delos Reyes hit two RBIs including one run-scoring single hit.
Nizer had only one strike out but gave up 17 hits and walked four.
Docomo 24, POI 5
Paython Sakuma homered and exploded with seven RBIs as he led Docomo pound POI, 24-5.
Kuich Damian also hit a homerun and had three RBIs with two doubles and a single hit.
Tyrone Omar who hit a triple during lead bat also homered for his two RBIs.
Gloyd Martin also hit three RBIs, Leo Bobai and John Acosta added two.
Leo Bobai gave up 10 hits and five runs.
