7 of the teams were registered to play in the masters division (for players 40 and beyond) and 6 in the open division.
The teams that registered to play in the tournament were:(masters division) Kayangel Angels, Ngarchelong Blue Sharks, Aimeliik, Meyuns, Airai, Ngaremlengui, and Chollywood, (open division) Kayangel Angels, Ngarchelong Rainbows, Aimeliik, Meyuns, Airai, and Ngaremlengui.All of the teams played in a single elimination schedule in their respective division last Saturday.Both of Meyuns teams and Chollywood were eliminate for failure to show up on time.Chollywood re-registered as an open division team and was able to play in later games.The teams that survived last Saturday’s games to move into Sunday’s championship games were Kayangel Angels (open and masters), Ngarchelong Rainbows, Ngaremlengui (open and masters), Aimeliik (open and masters), Airai (masters) and Chollywood.In the end of the arduous games, the Kayangel Angels (open) proved to be the most dominant of the teams as it defeated all of its opposing teams by a margin of 5 runs or more to earn the tournaments open division champions’ trophy.Aimeliik (masters), on the other hand, beat all of its opponents in “come from behind” fashion to obtain the masters champions trophy of the tournament.The final placement of the teams by division is as follows: (open) K-Angels, 1st; Ngaremlengui, 2nd; Rainbows, 3rd; Chollywood, 4th; and (masters) Aimeliik, 1st; K-Angels, 2nd; Ngaremlengui 3rd; and Airai, 4th.The trophies that were won in this year’s BMS tournament will be up for grabs in the next year’s tournament.A team that wins a trophy in consecutive tournament would keep each respective trophy permanently.
