Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Sports and Recreation Division Director Joe Lizama disclosed last week that CUC power division chief, Gary Camacho assured him that load shedding in Susupe where the islands main sports facilities are located will have power outage only from 12 midnight to 2 a.m.
The Inter-government/business Basketball Tournament resumed last night while the Saipan Major League Baseball has started its championship game between Rock Steady and Rangers.
Sports activities were canceled many times in the past few weeks due to power outages.
Last week, the Inter-government/business Basketball Tournament that is held at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym and the Saipan Major League Baseball had to be canceled the whole week due to unscheduled power outages.
This prompted the league organizers to raise their concerns to the CUC. They want to keep themselves updated with load shedding schedules so that they could determine which day they can postpone and resume the games.
The SML has yet to move on with their playoff series while the Inter-government/business caging has few weeks more to reach the playoffs.
