D9ers rout Korean Dreams, 16-9, advance to SML playoffs

D9ers went scoreless in the first inning as Korean Dreams’ Jirdon Reyes hit one RBI single to score lead off batter, John Reyes a run in the first inning.

Ton Camacho walked and scored a run on error of the first base handler, as designated hitter Ton Tenorio hit an RBI sending Chris Camacho home and John Acosta drove in Pat Alepuyo in the third inning.

Greg Camacho, was 2-for-3 and hit two RBIs sending Jeff Tenorio in the fourth and Acosta in the sixth innings.

Chris Camacho also hit two RBIs to score Greg Camacho in the third and Ton Camacho in the final inning.

Ben Mesa went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.

Derick Babauta pitched a strong five innings and struck out three, allowing five hits and six runs.

D9ers now join Rock Steady, Falcons and Rangers in the playoff series that will start next week.

The Rangers that shut out Komoro on Friday last week are set to challenge defending the Falcons today for the second slot in the bid for championship.
