Jess Wabol said their group’s by-laws requires all monthly aces need to play at least six RGA-sanctioned tournaments in order to participate in their annual championship in December.
He said that in case an Ace of the Month fails to have six tournaments played, the second placer will take over the monthly title in the championship tournament.
The community tournaments on the islands which the RGA held its qualifier in conjunction with are considered RGA-sanctioned tournaments.
The latest one for example was the St. Jude Golf Tournament in Laolao Bay Golf Resort where RGA held its qualifying game for June Ace of the Month.
The July Ace of the Month, Wabol announced, will be held on July 19 at the Laolao Bay Resort West Course. The check-in time will be at 11 a.m., and the tee time, 12 noon.
Ben Duenas was the qualifier for RGA’s July Ace of the Month after eking out a net of 68 during the Ninth St. Jude Annual Golf Tournament at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort last month.
The 12 handicapper Duenas fired 8-over par 80.
The other RGA’s Ace of the Month are Luis Byun for January with (66); Asterio Tawanpiy for February (65); Jess Wabol for March (67);Dick Pierce for April (62); Joe Demapan for May (65) and Jordan Kosam for June (64).
