Das Krishnan
DAS Krishnan clinched the Saipan Golf Association’s April Ace of the Month title with a net score of 71 at the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort east course on April 28.
Krishnan played exceptionally well throughout the day.
On the front nine, Krishnan was ahead of the competition with a gross of 43. On the back nine, he improved his score by shooting a gross of 39 for a combined gross score of 82. His 11 handicap gave him a net score of 71.
Ed Sablan also notched a net score of 71, but Krishnan had the edge in the scorecard playoff. Sablan, who settled for second place, shot a gross of 50 on the front nine and 49 on the back for a total gross score of 99. With a handicap of 18, Sablan’s net score was 71.
Krishnan now joins the list of SGA’s 2024 Ace of the Month winners so far: Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Alex Tudela (February) and Nick Sablan (March).
In third place was John Matsumoto who also went through a scorecard playoff against Frances Sablan as both shared a net score of 72.
Matsumoto had the slight advantage on the front nine as he shot a gross of 47 and maintained efficiency on the back nine with a gross of 48 for a total gross of 95 and a net score of 72, thanks to his handicap of 23.
Frances Sablan shot a gross of 55 on the front nine and 48 on the back for a total gross of 103, which, because of her 31 handicap, yielded a net score of 72.
In the optional play, the Closest to the Pin winners were Jung Eun Teack for hole #4, Ed Manibusan for hole #6, Tony Reyes for hole #11, and Nick Sablan for hole #15 while the Longest Drive winners were Ed Sablan for hole #3, and Larry Deleon Guerrero for hole #10.
