Dela Cruz’ grandslam lifts Natibu past For Fun, 23-11

This was a two day league where these two teams have been battling it out for the winning trophy and bragging rights. First up to bat in the championship game was Team For Fun.

With bases loaded and the crowd going wild Joey Dela Cruz batted the ball out of the field to bring everyone back home. With the 7th hit, again with the bases loaded, Team For Fun’s catcher, Mitch Aaron, bats a home run right above left field Joe Tudela to send everyone on base sprinting home. But team Natibu was not pressured by this, instead when Giovanni Ayuyu smacked the ball through, it ended up being a double play for two outs. When Byron Kaipat stepped up to the plate he batted straight into Natibu’s shortstop Dustin Quitano.

At the bottom of the 1st inning, Team Natibu’s 1st batter smacked the ball to the ground caught by Toi Celis who threw it to first base for the first out sending the crowd howling. Natibu’s 2nd batter sent the ball into the air caught by Byron Kaipat for the second out. And Natibu’s 3rd batter sent the ball into the air again caught by Giovanni Ayuyu for the third out ending the 1st inning.

After the 1st inning team Natibu started dominating with a record score of 11-7 at the bottom of the 2nd inning. At the bottom of the 3rd inning the score was 21-8. Last out caught by Marvin Kaipat to end the fourth inning score 21-8 for Team Natibu securing their winning streak. With 4 and a half innings the score was 21-10 and by the end of the fifth inning the score remained the same. At the end of the 6th inning they did not go further with a blow out score of 23-11 with Team Natibu leading by 12 points.
