Visminda dominates Mafea, 84-74

Both teams nearly tied in the first quarter, scoring 18-17 with the Vismindas leading by a single point.

Visminda Kids Cove players started to outrun their opponents during the second quarter when Alex Ocampo laid 6 points along with another 2 from free throw shots. Ocampo was aided by James Abuy, who fired a three pointer.

By the third quarter, the Mafeas focused their offense on William Opone and Francis Rebuyon, who scored a combined total of 17 points. As a key player and score leader for the Mafeas, Rebuyon was able to slam 28 points throughout the whole game.

Relying on Jun Alipio, Jhun Abedes, and Ed Cosino in the fourth quarter, the Visminda Kids Coves’ offensive pushed them ahead of the Mafeas. Alipio, Abedes, and Cosino contributed 20 points, leading the Vismindas 10 points ahead of the Mafeas by the end of the game.

Nationals vs Mobil, called off due to rain.

Unfortunately for the UFO’s second basketball game later that evening, the match between the CNMI National Team and the SIP – Mobils was forced to stop due to sudden rain.

The game was officially postponed when the rain started to pour in the late second half.

The match will not be restarted, but will continue from where the teams left off at a later date.
