This came after he won Saipan Golfers Association’s November Ace of the Month/Turkey Shoot at the Coral Ocean Point last Sunday, shooting 73 to earn a net of 60.
Demapan is also RGA’s May Ace of the Month when the 65 net he garnered in the qualifying round was left unbeaten during the RGA May Ace tournament that held in conjunction with the 6th Annual Northern Marianas College Foundation Open at the Lao Lao Bay Golf Resort last April 26.
Both golfers group held monthly Ace of the Month tournaments to bring out 12 best players of the year who will compete in the annual championship tournament in December.
Winners of the RGA annual golf championship next month will also be competing for two more trophies—the Sid K. Peter and Tony M. Taitano awards.
In SGA November Ace tournament last week, Demapan birdied once in front nine and thrice in the back nine finishing one stroke over par 73 and netted 60.
He shot even par 36 in the front nine and 1-over par 37 in the back nines.
This proved much better than his winning performance in the RGA May Ace of the month where he shot 6 over par 78 to beat nine other RGA members. Here, he fired 37 in the front and 41 in the back.
The second placer in last week’s SGA tournament was Martin Sablan who shot 87 but went only one point behind Demapan for the net.
Frank Rosario who greened in hole No. 7 won the third place firing 8 over par 44 to net 67.
Edward Manibusan who shot 2-under par 34 in the front nine and 2-over par in the back nine shot 72 but his 5 handicap pulled his net down to 67 tying it up with Rosario.
Ned Norita who shot the longest drive in holes Nos. 9 and 18 was the only player who eagled. He made it in hole No. 9.
The SGA’s December Ace of the Month will be held on Nov. 30 at the Marianas Country Club in Marpi, while the RGA’s December Ace of Month will be on Saturday at the King Fishers Country Club in Talafofo.
Check in time for RGA will be 11 a.m., and the tee time will be 12 noon.
