Diamond Fixers rout Chinatown; Calvo, Ajoste hand Wonderful 7th win

JR Barrios Hernandez and Ruel Cayanan both basketed three point shots to help the Fixers pound Chinatown.

Except for Jake Licop and JR Montano, all of the Fixers contributed to second quarter storm sweeping Chinatown 16 points down below before the second half started.

Barrios carried the team almost single-handedly in the third quarter yet, the Fixers managed to keep pace ahead of Chinatown for which Dick Tibayan mounted the rally in an effort to bounce back.

The Fixers went all the way in the final quarter lambasting Chinatown with 22 points. Manalo fired eight of his 16 markers while Dan Ray Hernandez who took it easy earlier in the game geared up to six baskets and finished with nine points helping secure their 79-56 victory.

Club Wonderful 69, San Roque 64

Claude Calvo and Omar Ajoste combined 29 points and Eugene Mangali added 13 points to keep Club Wonderful ahead of San Roque leading to their 69-64 win.

Mangali blasted an early three-pointer and Club

Wonder cagers shared actions in the first quarter to lead by 10 points.

Then, Calvo boosted with eight markers in the second quarter with Jojo Ong helping up with four points including his two penalty shots.

Ajoste led the scoring hands in the third quarter sinking eight points.

McClean Achas and Gil Gapor clamped on Club Wonderful’s offense affecting a series of fast breaks to close the gap in the final quarter. Achas scored eight of his 20 points and Gapor, seven of his 19 in an effort to come back but with Mangali taking the lead, Club Wonderful kicked away with a four-point lead to the ball game.
