Legislature lost to DOC, 100 84, in the loser’s bracket of the Inter-government/Business Basketball League.
The two teams left off tied at 69 points during its previous match, but when they met again at the Ada Gym on Saturday DOC out with enough energy to boost itself for the win with Gregorio Blas firing 21 points total for the entire game.
DOC and Legislature were neck and neck last week as they try to clinch the first win in the loser’s bracket.
Walter Mendez of DOC scattered 19 points in the ballgame to help the team inch its way up the scoreboard.
DOC’s Luis Iguel and Peter Mendiola were very helpful in the offense that they assisted in dumping over points over the lawmakers.
The two Duenas of Legislature – Ray and Ernest, made a total of 44 baskets combined, but a two-man team is no match for a game where five players are needed to win.
Aside from the Duenas’, Joe Punzalan and Ray DeLeon Guerrero Jr. were the only players in the Legislature to make a mark for on the scoreboard.
Looking back, Legislature failed to protect its zone defense, enabling DOC to penetrate the painted area most of time.
DOC practically capitalized on fast play, and made every effort to pierce through Legislature’s neglected zone defense.
