Inter-color Basketball League draws in 6 teams, seeks more

Fernando “Pando” Muleta, PilCoWA sports coordinator, told the Variety they have gathered six teams that have formed a complete roster of players and have signed up for the league, which will open on September 28.

Muleta did not mention the names of the teams yet as the teams are still in the processing of finalizing their official name to be printed on their jerseys.

“Our target number is 8 teams to join the league so that we can start the games,” Muleta noted, adding that they are still open for other groups that want to compete to make the season a more memorable event.

Muleta also said the more teams that will compete will help ‘stretch’ the league’s season.

Established about three years ago, the Inter-color Basketball League will be the first time PilCoWA will spearhead a sports event, Muleta said.

He also said the association has prepared the names of categories for special awards of the league.

The first prize will include a team trophy and individual trophy.

The second and first runner-ups will also receive a team trophy and individual trophies.

Special awards will also be given away. The following are the categories for special awards: Mythical Five, Best in Assist, Best in Steal, Best in 3 points, and Best in free throw, and several others.
