The Dodgers’ Jeff Cruz pitches against the Reds in an SBL Masters League game at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Thursday last week.
THE Dodgers continued their ascent in the 2023 SBL Masters League by demolishing the Reds, 21-1, at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field on Thursday last week.
The Dodgers established control right from the start as they scored 12 runs in the top of the opening inning.
Several defensive mishaps on the part of the Reds gave the Dodgers an opportunity to gain the distance as they rounded the entire batting lineup before the first out was made.
The Dodgers’ Derek Aguon, Glen Camacho, Robert Bansil, John Acosta and Mark Villagomez each contributed a run along with an RBI while the wild pitches and errors haunted the Reds as they allowed seven runs to slip by uncontested while scoring only one run to trail 1-12 after completing the first inning.
Their Reds greatly improved their defense in the top of the second inning as they allowed only a few bases on balls, but the Dodgers remained in control of the tempo, adding seven runs, which included Camacho’s two-RBI single, to extend their lead, 19-1.
In the next two innings, the Reds allowed the Dodgers to score two runs only, but were left silent and had to settle for defeat, 1-21.
