THE Dodgers dominated the Blue Jays, 14-2, in a Saipan Baseball League Masters League game on Friday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field with Rob Bansil hitting the season’s first home run.

The Blue Jays opened the inning, but quickly turned it over with one runner left on base.

The Dodgers, for their part, picked their shots carefully with Rich Quitugua earning an RBI single with one out after three at bat. Rob Bansil then followed up with a homer that traveled over the fence while Jeff Cruz joined the highlight reel with a two-run triple to give the Dodgers a commanding lead, 9-0.

The Blue Jays were silenced again in the second inning while the Dodgers continued to expand the deficit with four more runs thanks to Cruz’s two-run single. The Dodgers added one more run in the third to further widen their lead, 14-0.

In the fourth inning, the Blue Jays did not allow the Dodgers to score, but they also had to cut the lead to a single digit to prevent the application of the 10-point mercy rule.

In the top of the fifth, the Blue Jays’ Ben Pangelinan managed to shed some light with a two-RBI single but the third out followed, allowing the Dodgers to seal the deal, 14-2.
