Dolphinz tandem top grass volleyball

Jomil and Dalena of the Marianas High School’s Dolphinz kept the lead to stay in the winners’ bracket, then, swept two wins in the best-for-three championship against Saipan International School’s Team Silly composed of Amber and Andy.

The event was a two-person reverse coed volleyball for children 14 to 17 years old.

Of the ten teams that participated, two other tandems joined the Dolphinz and SIS in the Top 4.

Strollers’ Angelo and AJ of Grace Christian Academy and BFTG’s Josh and Zoe also emerged to be among the best teams that made it to the double elimination round in the afternoon.

The Dolphinz tandem defended their dominance to secure slot in the finals, while Team Silly rose from the losers’ bracket to clinch the championship berth.

The Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association congratulates all the players for getting the chance to try volleyball on the grass.

“It’s not a game that many get the chance to experience,” he NMIVA said.

The islands’ volleyball organization also thanks Mili Saiki for heading the organizing committee.

Noting that sports events like this is one of the paths that the youth need to take in order to develop themselves for regional and international competitions, NMIVA supports and encourages more.

The NMIVA also acknowledges JR Gechig of Island Volleyball Club for co-organizing this event.

“If you have a vollyeball event that you want help with, let us know,” NMIVA added.
