A brand new Toshiba laptop computer was found missing from the office of Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands.
The computer unit was donated just last week by Rep. Edward Salas to BANMI.
Sports officials said it appears the still unidentified suspect ripped the cord from the payphone at the gym’s main entrance and used it to break the glass of the trophy showcase, and managed to break in to the BANMI office.
BANMI officials said the incident should be a wake-up call to the CNMI government that the Ada Gym needs serious attention.
Saipan is hosting an upcoming FIBA Oceania Basketball Tournament in June.
