J. Trading jaguar will try to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Western Union as they try to face off with RAMS-Ballers on the game opener while the tough shooters from Western Union continues their groove as they meet with the PIA-Slashers for the second match. Then on the third game, Palau Nats tries to regroup after failing to win the match against Surangel in overtime last Sunday will be matched against team HANPA –Cardinals and as for the featured game, 2008 Defending Champion Surangel and Sons will put up a rematch of the championship games last year as they tussle with the Rangers team who has not lost a game yet. Surangel will be paced by 2008 league MVP, Juvic San Juan, “Mr. Excitement” Arnold Undencimo, Speedy Deloy Pingot, streak shooting DeGuzman, and Poweful bigman Eric Manio. On the other hand, Rangers will be led by Jay Naguit, Eugene Baluyot, Noel Avenido, Ronald Mamuyac, and Mike Guevarra.
Four matches are played every Sunday afternoon in which the first game starts at exactly 11:00 p.m. The 2009 Filipino Basketball League is operated and supervised by the Palau Basketball Federation and sponsored by PITI, CTSI-Logistics, J.Trading/ATT, Surangel and Sons, Ilocandia Association, Ilonggo Association, and Western Union.
