Esdrelon pushed it harder against the Cholos causing five turnovers and three defensive rebounds.
Glen Mercurio also ruled the center spot as he helped reset plays with his seven defensive rebounds. He also gave the Fixers scoring chances with four steals.
The Fixers were trailing in the first half.
Esdrelon blasted twice from outside the rainbow line and converted another three-point play to help the Fixers close-in in the third quarter.
JR Barrios grabbed 10 rebounds and helped the Fixers pull away with five points in the final quarter to have a total 10 points. He basketed four free throws.
Melvin Capalad scored nine of his 11 points, also in the final period.
Tim Wesley and White Capalad added eight points apiece. Capalad clamped on Cholos’ defense with four steals.
Reynard Aranda and Joe Kapileo scored 12 points apiece as they carried Cholos together in a losing effort.
Ol’ Aces 84, Hoopaholics 69
Dan Barcinas’ all-out defense worked out just well and led the Ol’ Aces in beating the Hoopaholics black and blue for an 84-69 debut win.
Barcinas led Ol’ Aces’ scoring hands finishing with 25 points including a three-pointer in the second quarter.
He had 11 steals 10 defensive rebounds and affected nine turnovers. He also helped control the offense with seven assists.
Jack Lizama dominated both courts with a total of 18 rebounds as he chipped in 10 points.
Gabriel White gave the Ol’ Aces the needed boost in the final period scoring 11 of his 16 points. He also helped keep the ball intact in the offense with six rebounds.
Pete Iguel who caused nine turnovers, worked on four steals and helped determine right moves with five assists.
After White’s three-pointer in the final quarter, he and Barcinas kept the surge with two-pointers ending Hoopaholics’s hope to recover.
