G-Stars push past Rollers in Rotary caging

The Rollers were able to grasp the lead of the game by a hairline after Ralph Francisco connected 13 points for the Rollers whilst Christian De Vero, Clayton Kenty, and Eddy Manalili were only able to fend off 4 points a piece for the G-Stars to come short by a basket to snatch the lead from the Rollers.

By the end of the first quarter the scores were 17-16 sending the crowd into a wild frenzy.

Both teams entered the second quarter with strong spirits. Ryan Iglecias bagged another 6 swift points for the Rollers followed by two jump shots from teammate Jasper Yap in their effort to leave the G-Stars behind.

But the G-Stars yanked the winning momentum from the Rollers after team players Christian De Vero scored 6 points for the G-Stars and teammates Eddy Manalili and Ian Benavente scored 4 points a piece. After the G-Stars were able to score repeatedly, they then formed an aggressive defense against the Rollers so they could push no further for more points.

By half time the G-Stars were able to get their bearings together to snatch the lead from the Rollers by 2 points, 31-29.

As the G-Stars entered the court once more they exhibited their aggressive domination against the Rollers. Jacob Palacios was able to basket two downtown shots followed by a jump shot to open the second half of the game in his attempt to secure their lead. David Diaz, along with his teammates, was only able to slip past their foes defense four times for a total of 8 points and more than 5 minutes of silence in the third quarter.

By time the siren rang to seal the third quarter shut, the G-Stars already left the Rollers behind by 12 points, 49-37.

Both teams entered the last quarter of the game with one common goal; hand the loss to the other team. But Marvin Rabauliman secured the G-Stars’ victory with 6 points with a sour taste of revenge after losing a game to the Ol Aces.

On the other hand, the Rollers were able to nip the gap to 6 points by the end of the game but still came up short after losing too much ground in the third quarter, 59-53.
