Gibbons swam fluidly tackling the first day of the competition without difficulty when she grabbed first place on events like 200m individual medley, 200m freestyle, 200m backstroke, and 400m freestyle on record breaking time.
Then on the second day of the pool challenge Jam Ketengel Domingo took matters in his hands as he conquered the 50m butterfly race with a time of 34:97 then went on to win the 100m freestyle at a pace of 1:06:69. He also was able to finish other events on a faster time compared to other contenders such as the 50m freestyle, 100m breastroke, and the 50m backstroke.
Other notable winners for the two-day event include Osisang Chilton, who finished all her events on a tight race with Maria Gibbons, young Ayana Rengiil who is still in the age of 10 has proven that she can keep with the bigger competitors after posting some good times on her event. Other occasions also featured up and coming national swimmers namely Romellen Maido, Keasha Keane, Youri Ito, and Olai Kumangai who have astonishingly developed and improved their skills in the sport of swimming.
The swim challenge featured different age groups and brackets like 8 and under, 9 – 13, 14 – 18, Open competition, and Master’s (25 years old and over) and is a preparation for the upcoming Micro Games.
