GMP x Yuman notched their fourth consecutive win in the Destroyers Basketball Club Invitational Basketball League 2024 by outplaying Jacob’s Bakeshop, 91-73, at the TSL Sports Complex on Sunday.
From the tip-off, GMP x Yuman established dominance with great ball movement and execution. Leading the charge were Justin Enano and Jude Tengco, who put up eight and seven points, respectively, while Sean Licayan added extra firepower from the three-point line, sinking two buckets.
Although Jacob’s Bakeshop fell behind early, Manuel Gatbonton and Irvin Malonzo eventually found their groove and started to chip away at the deficit. However, their team’s lack of defensive presence continued to set them back even as GMP x Yuman’s Jether Medina joined the fray with 11 points to maintain a comfortable distance going into halftime.
Jacob’s Bakeshop showed no signs of giving up in the second half. Jerome Reyes and Andrew Sy made significant contributions as they tried to close the gap, but they were met with strong defense and strategic plays on the part of GMP x Yuman. Raymond Atencio kept the fuel burning by sizzling 15 points underneath the rim while teammate Medina sank three shots from beyond the arc to maintain the pressure en route to victory, 91-73.
