Gorilla, an ‘ultimate’ test for Tinian’s young guns

Nine bouts featuring the collisions between Saipan and Tinian fighters will highlight Into the Jungle, Gorilla Warfare’s first MMA event to be held on Tinian.

But what will bring the most excitement in the event are the debut fights being put up by Zeng Zung, Tinian’s first MMA fight group, Saipan’s Predator Combat and Team Zalaka, and four independent fighters from Tinian.

Tinian’s MMA debutants, Nabors said are among those who were hyped up by the triumphs that were brought home by the island’s fighters in previous fight events, including Gorilla Warfare’s Confrontation where Tinian’s Keli “The Rukiz” Manglona won NMI’s first MMA belt against Donny “The Menace” Fejeran via TKO in November last year.

The new Tinian fighters, Nabors added had been training so hard since MMA became a great interest among sports enthusiasts in the NMI.

Now, these young and promising fighters need the events like Into the Jungle, “to see how they measure up” to their counterparts on Saipan.

The rookie fighters from Tinian who will have their debut fights include Pete Sakisat who will face Saipan’s Frank Demapan who is vying for a second MMA victory.

Tinian’s Thomas “The Boss” Ericsson and Predator Combat’s Schneider Ongiil are both having their debut fight in their heavy weight confrontation. Tinian’s Manny “The Doctor” Cepeda and Predator Combat’s “Marky” Mark Manaluz are also testing the waters in their own debut clash.

The Rukiz’ brother, Conrad “The Mangler” Manglona and Joe Untalan also from Tinian are also facing each other for their debut fights.

Saipan’s other bets who will have their debut fights are Team Zalaka’s Greg “Da One” Teregeyo who will face Zeng Zung’s George “Kamikaze” Manglona and John Ilo who will clash with Tinian’s Carl Cepeda in the feather weight division.

Two fighters who had tasted MMA victory are Zeng Zung’s Peter Cepeda and Predator Combat’s James Justin Castro will clash for second win in the feather weight division.

Saipan’s Pete Guerrero and Tinian’s Conrad Iba are both vying for first MMA record in their middle weight match.

Tinian’s Joemar Untalan will have to end this thirst for victory once he faces Saipan’s Leroy Sablan in the light weight division.

The two other exciting fights will be the light weight division bout between Predator Combat’s Nate “The Terrible” Flores and Marianas Elite’s Jerome Norita and the heavy weight watch between Team Zalaka’s Moses “Kingkong” Buekis and independent fighter Jerel Olopai.
