Hodges, a new comer in SGA clinched the August Ace title after having the highest number of birdies, which Ned Norita almost had in the front nines consistently firing one stroke under par in holes Nos. 2, 5 and 9.
Hodges, a seven handicapper outscored on a scorecard playoff, Tony Deleon Guerrero and Larry I. Deleon Guerrero who had identical 68 net scores.
Tony DLG matched Hodges’ birdie in hole No. 4 and birdied again in hole No. 6 to tie it 2-over par 38 in the front nine.
Hodges’ par at the lowest handicap hole, par 4, in hole No. 5 was better than that of Tony DLG who bogeyed in that hole.
Hodges however, improved big time in the back nine as he birdied in holes No. 11, 13 and 15, finishing one stroke over par 37 to gross a total of 75.
Tony DLG clipped the second place in hole No. 11 with a bogey against they double-bogey by Larry DLG who settled for third place firing a gross of 87.
Tony, Larry Deleon Guerrero and Norita had three birdies.
Another exciting performance was an eagle chip into the hole at par 5, hole No. 13 by veteran golfer Ray San Nicolas who smiled all the way to the end of the game.
The longest drive shoot out was won by Ray San Nicolas at hole No. 2 while long knocker Rick Kautz topped at hole No. 11.
Mariano Fajardo, San Nicolas and Hodges claimed closest to the pins at holes No. 6, 8, 12 and 16.
The highest gross score in the event was Nobert Sablan’s 104 and the highest net was Manny Alvarez’ 83.
