Inter Godfather’s bags Men’s League title

What seemed to be a promising start for Wild Bill’s led to utter collapse as Jeeraphong (Jack) Thoensaket failed to connect his second goal after scoring in the first half.

Masatoshi Otsuka of the Inter Godfather’s evened the game, 1-1 with an early game goal in the 18th minute and it wasn’t long before Peter Loken scored another by the second half.

Otsuka had earlier led the team to a 3-1 victory to eliminate MP United FC-A from last week’s semifinals.

His second goal in the 67th minute sweetened the deal while Matthew Holley scored Inter Godfather’s fourth point with two minutes to go this weekend.

Wild Bill’s defeated Paire Football Club, 4-1 to reach the championship. This time, Thoensaket couldn’t pull off title-winning play and came short from net by the second half.

Team Inter Godfather’s also included: Evan Hunsberger, Shunji Nagayasu, Edwin Cruz, Peter Houk, Gilmark “Arkie” Reusora, Emery Fitial, Bruce Berline, Peter Loken, David Duenas, Alfred Roberts, Yoshio Gabaldon, Suguru Takahashi, Jacob Van Dam, Sanjay Dangol, Jose Duenas, Juan Duenas, and Chris Nelson.

MPU routs Paire, 4-3 in OT

In a consolation game, youth league striker Dae Min Jeon delivered his second goal to lift MPU-A over Paire FC, 4-3 in overtime.

Paire soared ahead on a 1-0 lead from William Dunn’s goal before Jeon and Ji Yeop Sun tied the game, 2-2.

Sun and Jeon added two more points in the 100th and 103rd minutes, respectively during overtime while Paire squeezed in one last goal from Zhi Peng Lin (110th minute).

The game was a second victory for Jeon, who joined MPU-18U to rule the 2011 FA Challenge Cup finals last Saturday.

The win guaranteed MPU’s spot in the Men’s League’s top three while Paire settled for fourth place.
