BANMI also extends special thanks to Jim and Kathryn Barry and Alex and Nora Sablan for tremendous contribution to the Managaha trip; principals, teachers and coaches of the participating public schools (MISO) and private schools (COPSSA) for organizing the teams, approving the eligibility of their student athletes, and contributing to the development of basketball; all parent and legal guardians for supporting their child’s involvement in basketball and to the student athletes who participated in this event, and showed their island spirit and hospitality to our visitors from Osaka, Japan.
Special thanks also to Yoshiro Kishimoto, president of Biz Aid Saipan Enterprises, Inc., for coordinating the arrival, accommodation, entertainment and departure of the Settsu Red Impulse Group; Sakaguchi of the Settsu Red Impulse Group from Osaka, Japan for coordinating the event with BANMI, providing lunch through the Majestic Chinese Restaurant across the Fiesta Resort & Spa, and donating the championship trophies, best player awards, tournament towels and other gifts to all of the participants; the Referees of the Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands (BANMI) Referees Association and the Scorebench Officials for their tireless work; Lawrence Camacho, Pete Igisomar and Mr. Ping for their invaluable hard work and assistance with all of BANMI’s planned activities for the Settsu Red Impulse Group and all event participants and to the CNMI Youth Congress Senators for their effortless spirit of giving back to their community and the youth, and to all of the volunteers who helped in so many little and large ways.
