Lack of coaches, sponsors hinders Rotary caging

BANMI President Elias Rangamar has been waiting for weeks now, for the coach and team managers to submit the requirements.  It turned out however that required documents are not really the problem of teams trying to join the league. It’s the lack of sponsors.

Rangamar said eight teams have already come forward to join the annual league but none of them so far, have completed the requirements. And during meetings called for by the BANMI, only two or three coaches showed up.

Rangamar in an interview yesterday disclosed that the players 18 years old and under are actually interested to play. They are just having a hard time finding sponsor who will help them with uniforms and other expenses.

Two of the aspiring teams, those from Capital Hill and Chalan Kanoa do not even have coach.

The league which usually opens at the end of school days has been put on hold a number of times since it was initially scheduled in June.

The lack of response among coaches and managers Rangamar has said two days go, is leaving him no choice but to push the league back for another schedule, probably next week. He also said that if the teams don’t start getting their acts together, the BANMI may consider canceling the league.
