Lady Cagers train Kids

As part of their schedule on their training at the state of Melekeok, the squad was given the opportunity to act out as coach in trying to introduce the game of basketball to bunch of kids who enjoyed and hour of skills performance enhancements and a halffourt game.

Kids were taught on proper warm up and stretching to avoid sports injuries before starting to do any court exercises and game playing. They were given also tips on ball handling by asking them to execute drills that will enhance their ability to handle a basketball. Drills such as head wraps, waist wraps, leg wraps, are among the ball handling drills introduced. In addition to such, kids were also taught to dribble with their left and right hand by asking them to have dribble relays across court. Shooting drills were also established, as the kids were educated on proper forms of shooting. Lastly, kids were divided into teams and asked to play three on three half court to check on their ability to play in a game.

As a culmination, kids were divided into three teams, Celtics, Lakers, and Cavaliers for a short tournament were team Celtics got to win in a tight match against the Cavaliers.

Mcray saves the DAY, 69 – 65

Team Ngiwal 79ers went strong on the dying minutes of the match against team Jaguars to win with a final count of 69 – 66, in a game played for the on going Amateur Basketball League 2009 – 2010.

With the game on the line and minutes away before the final buzzer sounded, as both teams trying to look for a shot that could seal a victory for their respective teams, it was the 79ers guard, McRay Yobech, who threw a shot from beyond the arc that gave them a one point lead, 67 – 66, against the feisty Jagaur team.And as the time ticked to its final seconds, a foul committed by their opponent gave them a chance once more to extend the lead into three, 69 – 66, when Alladin Llecholech of Ngiwal team flushed two free throws. From there, Jaguar tried all their might to get back on the game but failed as the final buzzer sounded on them.

In other matches, ON fire showed their best to beat team Breakers , 78 – 69, while PPRShark Attack drubbed team Meda Boys, 70 – 64. On previous night games, powerful Surangel team crushed team Ngerbuns with a score of 83 – 65, then Ranchers edged team Stingers in a tight game that ended with a score of 75 – 73. Team Kabong stayed to be supreme on standings as they thumped on Meyuns Redstorm, 64 – 53.Team High Tide continued to roll with wins when they get to beat team PCC – Mesekui, 79 – 61, while team MEDA shuts team Aiwaves, 71 – 63. Peched team still unbeatable after pounding team Ngerchemai with blow outr score of 123 – 85.
