THE Legends Team bagged another win in the masters division of the 2023 Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club Invitational Basketball League by outplaying Vizion, 86-74, on Wednesday at the Gualo Rai basketball court.
The Legends found their rhythm right from the start with Dante Tabora and Marlon Binuya sinking a total of eight points while the rest of the team joined in the fray to seize the lead, 18-12.
The lead grew larger during the second quarter as they continued to stay aggressive. This time, it was Dick Tabayan who stole the spotlight as he constantly attacked the hoop alongside Tabora with seven points each while James Villacrusis also delivered seven points — including one triple — for a comfortable 48-25 lead.
Vizion’s Ariel Baul and Larry Palero ignited in the third quarter while teammate Andy Mortos added extra firepower from inside the paint for a 33-point run in the fourth quarter.
However, the Legends’ Villacrusis and Binuya kept their team’s offensive fire burning while denying Vizion a late-game comeback to secure the win, 86-74.
