N.I. Mayor Tobias Aldan in an interview said that while his constituents are waiting for the best opportunity to go back to their islands, they want to continue giving back to the members of the community on Saipan.
The drums they are donating carried the fuel used by the scientists from U.S. Fish and Wildlife who conducted the survey on marine and terrestrial species last year.
Aldan said over 300 young sports youths who frequent the Francisco Tanko Palacios Baseball Field, the Miguel Tange Basa Pangelinan Ball Field, Gilbert C. Ada Gym and Oleai Track and Field will benefit from the improvised trash bins.
The mayor added they also plan to distribute 10 drums to each of the elementary schools on Saipan.
Aldan also wants to thank the lawmakers who donated cash for the design of each drum. They are Floor Leader George N. Camacho, Reps. Ray A. Tebuteb, Raymond D. Palacios, Ray N. Yumul, Ralph S. Demapan and Sylvestre Iguel.
Meanwhile, the Saipan Little League wants to commend acting Sports Director Jojo Attao for his outstanding job of preparing the two ball fields during the scheduled games.
Little League safety officer Kevin Guerrero said Attao maintained each field every single game of the league.
