Little League head lauds Saipan’s 37th year in youth baseball

In his letter to SLLB, Stephen D. Keener said he celebrates with players and volunteers for the 37th anniversary of playing Little League in the CNMI.

Keener noted that from a humble beginning as simple baseball program, Saipan Little League Baseball has grown to become leadership training program, family entertainment activity and community development organization.

Keener said all these became possible because SLLB is blessed with “incredible corps of volunteers,”—board members, coaches, umpires, grounds crew and even the concession stand workers.

These people, Keener said put the Little League program into action.

“You and your counterparts in thousands of communities worldwide are the reason Little League is the world’s largest and most respected youth sports program,”Keener said.

Keener also expressed hope that the memories and life lessons learned in Little leagues have served former players and current organizers well as adults.

“May all who have been shaped by your commitment and legacy, in turn serve others so that impact continues without end,” Keener said.
