”13 teams and counting [have shown interest in the league.]” said Board Chairman Ray Lizama in an interview with the Marianas Variety.
The games will kick off on April 6th, 2011. All interested participants are advised to form teams now and are asked to get ready for another exciting and successful 2011 season.
“[Last year’s] Champions, IT&E, are [shooting for] another perfect record in this up coming season. Tony Diaz’s 51 points in a single game will be broken this season. All Historical Records are up for grabs.” Lizama added.
Entrance Fees are yet to be determined and the MBFNMI 2011 renewal of memberships and new member’s fee is due on April 2011.
However, the board members and directors for MBFNMI are planning to incorporate a 50A Division, but have yet to decide; a decision will be made after the numbers of teams who are interested show up at the meetings.
MBFNMI currently has over 350 registered members and counting. Any individual(s) who are interested are more than welcome to be a member.
The MBFNMI league incorporates unique rules during its games. One unique rule is that all players must play in all quarters. If a team violates this rule they are subjected to a violation and a bench technical foul.
In other news, the Director of the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium, DCCA Sports and Recreation Division, Mr. Joe A. Lizama has approved MBFNMI Games M-W-F; 1st game 6:00pm and 2nd Game 7:30pm. MBFNMI will finalize its pending agenda before kick-off.
