Andersen Bombers defeat KFC Guam Select 79-72 in Triton Men’s Basketball League

(UOG) — In the Triton League, the biggest game of the regular season was played between Andersen Bombers and KFC Guam Select, a replay of the Fall 2025 championship game, with the Bombers winning a competitive contest, 79-72.

The Bombers controlled most of the first half as the game started off as a defensive struggle for both teams, with Andersen outscoring Guam Select 16-8 in the first 10 minutes. Guam Select scored 134 points in its last game against the MicroFriends but could not get its offense going against the Bombers. Team Select had only one 3-point shot in the first quarter, while the Bombers had none, but Andersen did well on the boards and converted put-backs to build the lead.

KFC Guam Select got more offensive production in the second quarter as Ben Borja scored 14 of the team’s 24 points in the period. Guam Select won the quarter 24-19 but trailed by three at halftime, 35-32.

The third period was the most dramatic quarter as both teams held the lead on multiple occasions, and a pushing match between players stopped play for a few minutes as officials worked to settle things down. Guam Select narrowly won the quarter 17-16, but the Bombers still led by two going into the fourth period, 51-49.

The Andersen Bombers were able to maintain the lead in the final period, outscoring Guam Select 28-23 and holding off KFC Guam Select at every turn to secure the 79-72 win.

Darryn Daniels and Charles Wingate led the Bombers with 21 points each. Ben Borja led Guam Select with 22 points.

The Andersen Bombers improved to 3-0 in the Triton League, while KFC Guam Select dropped to 2-1.
