The mats at the PÅTGON Jiu-Jitsu Tournament: Winter 2025 were set ablaze by the NMI as Trench Tech’s Igitol siblings—Avah, Anestacia Ha’ane, and Vic—turned in stellar performances, collecting gold and silver medals across the Gi and No-Gi divisions last Saturday at the UOG Calvo Field House, Guam.
Avah Arriola Igitol delivered one of the day’s most exciting matches, winning gold in the 95-pound No-Gi division. Despite weighing just 75 pounds, she produced a standout performance, showing that skill and strategic execution can overcome size. Her superior grappling led to a decisive armbar submission, securing gold in her No-Gi division.
Following Avah’s accomplishment, Anestacia Ha’ane earned double silver in the 130-pound Gi and No-Gi teen divisions. Her victories showcased her adaptability, tenacity, and ability to adjust her style across rulesets—a challenge even for seasoned athletes.
Not to be outdone by his sisters, Vic also reached the podium twice in the 65-pound division. His Gi division performance highlighted his proficiency in the traditional uniform, earning him silver. He then transitioned to No-Gi, securing bronze and demonstrating a powerful grappling game without the grips of the Gi.
Though Trench Tech sent just three competitors, the Igitol siblings’ collective haul—one gold, three silvers, and a bronze—made them one of the most decorated groups of the tournament.
