NMI’s Tan opens Oceania run with respectable seventh in 1500m

TEAM NMI distance standout Nathania Tan opened her 2026 Oceania Athletics Championships campaign with a solid performance in the women’s senior 1500m on Tuesday evening at Arafura Stadium. Competing in Heat 1 in a highly competitive regional field, Tan finished seventh with a time of 4:55.79. Australia’s Izzy Thornton-Bott won the race in a commanding 4:27.88, followed by Team Hawaiʻi’s Ashlyn Jacobsen (4:36.75) and New Zealand’s Caitlyn Marx (4:39.78).
