(SCC) — The Saipan Chamber of Commerce announces the cancellation of its 17th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament, originally scheduled for April 25, 2026 at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort due to the impact of Super Typhoon Sinlaku on our community.
“We have made the difficult decision to cancel our tournament due to the recent storm and current circumstances as the recovery and well-being of our community remain our top priority,” said Kimm Camacho, SCC executive director.
“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who expressed interest in and support for this year’s tournament. Participants who have already submitted payments will receive full refunds, and our team will be reaching out shortly with further details regarding the refund process. To our valued sponsors, we deeply appreciate your generosity and support; we will be in contact with you directly.
“As this tournament serves as a key fundraiser for our Annual Scholarship Program, we recognize that this cancellation will impact our ability to provide the same level of support this year. As a result, the timeline for our scholarship program may be adjusted. However, we want to assure our community that we are actively exploring alternative ways to continue supporting our mission of advancing higher education opportunities for our students.
