Malasarte needed only two sets to defeat Joel Ortega, 21-16, 21-12 in a men’s singles match while Alma downed Irish Pagarao, 21-16, 21-16.
Both victors were part of the 15 games scheduled for Wednesday night along with Roma Barlao and Ferdie Arago, who triumphed over Arlyn Naguit and Mario Diola, respectively.
Class A veteran player Dick Guintu came neck and neck with Andrew Galvez in their first set but won, 21-20. He dominated, 21-10 in set two.
After beating Rose Lazaro in Saturday’s opening game, Kim Boranah fell to Cris Obaldo, 21-18, 20-21, 21-18 in three sets. Extreme Pirates Badminton Club’s class B player Noli Santos outgunned Jerry Balarao, 21-18, 21-17.
Cristy Villaflor, Michelle Caleon, Joseph Santos, and Roger Vales conquered their foes in respective singles matches.
Doubles games are expected tonight, from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
