Man Amigos clinch finals in Chamolinian softball

The Man Amigos who dominated the 20 other teams in the beginning of the regular season but had lopsided games halfway to the playoff, had to face Natibu twice in the finals that starts tonight.

The Natibu sluggers secured their final berth after defeating Man Amigos 21-10 on Friday last week, and can already prepare for a bash during tonight’s game.

With Julian Camacho hitting solo shot twice and Manny Sablan firing a two-run homerun the Man Amigos were leading by five runs after five complete innings.

JJ Laniyo had a two-run double while Manny Sablan and Eric Palacios hit an RBI single apiece to pull the Man Amigos away in the top of the sixth.

Roy Celis hit a grand slam while Toi Celis had two chances to bat his first a two-run home run and his second a solo shot to lead the Island Rebels’ rally in the bottom of the sixth to wipe out the Man Amigos’s lead.

The Man Amigos however broke the tie in the top of the seventh from Manny Sablan’s two-run homerun before Laniyo’s fly ball landed in the mitt of Island Rebel’s left fielder Byron Kaipat.

The Island Rebels needed to score three runs in order to turn the game around but after Marvin Palacios’ run-scoring single, Ray Cepeda’s grounder handed them the first out.

Because he hit a grand slam in earlier, Roy Celis was given the first base to avoid him from hitting the decisive RBI.

The Man Amigos fielded Island Rebels for a double play and secured their 17-16 win.

Berdax 14, G-Ballers 8

Down by one run after two complete innings, Kelvin Kapileo fired a two-run home run and Jack Deleon Guerrero a three-run home run to lift Berdax past the G-Ballers in the top of the third inning.

Ray Terlaje launched his second home run and drove in two to cut Berdax lead but Bill Camacho seemed to be in right spot when three consecutive fly  balls from Salalila, Jude and Ray Borja to keep the G-Ballers scoreless in the bottom of the third.

The Berdax sluggers continued the surge in the fourth with Jess Tenorio driving in two runs with a home run, Asap Ogumoro and Bill Camacho knocking in an RBI single apiece and the Berdax never trailed.

Berdax held the G-Ballers back in the rest of the game except of Ray Terlaje’s third home run that came too short to inch closer.
