THE Man Amigos continue to solidify their spot among the top three teams in the masters division of the 2024 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball Association League after defeating the Redmen, 17-5, at the Dandan baseball field on Sunday to improve their win-loss record to 9-2.

The Redmen’s third at bat, Rick Bauer, made the highlight reel in the top of the first inning with a two-run homer. But the Man Amigos returned fire with a three-run homer by Eric Palacios to snatch control, 3-2.

The Redmen were left silent throughout the next three innings while the Man Amigos gradually extended their lead. Jess Guerrero kept the momentum burning with an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning followed by five more runs in the third, thanks to Mark Toves and Jun Palacios, who contributed a two-RBI single each. In the fourth, four more runs were added, highlighted by Pete Sablan’s three-run homer for a comfortable 13-2 Man Amigos lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Redmen’s Aling Ogumoro finally broke the silence with a two-run homer that was followed by Bauer’s RBI single. But the Man Amigos continued to score, adding four more runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win, 17-5.

Winners, too

Peliliu also came out victorious, beating Hagu Lamun, 11-7; Tokahao powered past Wazzup, 15-5; and SUFA outplayed TutuRamz, 20-10.
