Mangarero birdied in Holes No. 1 and 6; pared in Holes 2, 3 and 7 to finish 2-over par 38 in the front nine. He was behind Jeff Taylor, Asterio Tawanpiy, Adam Hardwick Nick Sablan and Frank Sablan who were in five-way tie at gross 35 during this round.
However, Mangarero’s bogeys hit the Peoria holes earning him the higher handicap. He double- bogeyed in the front nine’s final hole to gain extra two handicaps.
In the back nine, Mangarero fell further behind Hardwicke and Taylor who both grossed 34, but triple-bogeyed in Hole No. 11.
Taylor went through course without stumbling on Peoria holes. He eagled in the first hole and birdied in a none-Peoria hole earning him the next lowest net of 69.
Tawanpiy also birdied in the first hole, was minus one stroke in Hole 13 to finish with 69.6 net for the third place. He went 1- under par 35 in the front nine.
Hardwicke who birdied in four holes settled for fourth place.
But since he fired 1-under par 35 in the front and 2-under par 34 in the back, he got the lowest gross of 69 with Taylor and Jess Wabol trailing him. He tied with Taylor but got the lowest gross in a scorecard playoff.
Jess Wabol who shot 71 had the third lowest gross.
Also making it to the top five was Tony Rogolifoi who hit 5-over par 41 in the front nine and 9-over par 45 in the back nine.
JP Flores who finished 88 and Tom Tebuteb who shot 90 teed off closest to the pin.
Shirly Jones was the only female golfer to attend the tournament. She shot 93 and took the lowest gross title.
Some students, teachers and staff members of Tanapag Elementary School attended the tournament. The proceeds will be donated to the said school.
