Maratita homers, Fielders edge D-9ers, 13-9

Maratita went 4-for-5 with three runs and needed only a double to complete the cycle. John Reyes boosted the team with a two-run triple at the bottom of the eighth, sending Mike Tenorio and Wens Namelo home.

The Fielders took four-run lead in the first inning on three consecutive wild pitches from D-9ers’ Jared Camacho and Anthony Tenorio’s stolen base.

First baseman Ryan Ada scored an RBI single and Maratita finished off with a triple to drive Cadez Tenorio in.

Behind 7-2, the D-9ers narrowed the gap with seven late-game runs. Chad Atalig delivered a run-scoring single while center fielder Eric Tenorio reached home plate on a fielder’s choice.

Fielders’ starting pitcher Elton Santos struck out 12 and walked five in nine innings. Eli Aughenbaugh and Anthony Tenorio added two runs each.
