From 9 a.m. onwards, eight players from each team will play single matches on a round robin format.
MATTA’s Budhi Gurung said whichever team gets the highest number of wins will be awarded the championship trophy.
Guung recalled that last year, Tinian defeated Saipan 43-21.
Among 16 selected players from Saipan and Tinian, Ma and Luke was declared first and second placers as both won 8-0 and the third place went to Mrs.Roh,
Gurung expressed hope that Team Saipan will win the title this time.
The last tournament score was one of Team Saipan’s lowest wins, Gurung said, adding that “though we have been competing each others for the past five years.
Members of the community are invited to come and watch the games, he said.
After the single matches, competitors will play double and will have to decide whether round robin or knock out game will be done.
The last tournament doubles champions were Jean shi and Mrs Roh from Saipan as they beat Ma and Mr.Liyang from Tinian in final by 3-2.
