Mckenzie is 2010 Prince of the Lanes

Mckenzie faced MJ Aldan in the finals round last Sunday, where the latter posted 175 pinfalls. A win from Aldan would’ve pushed both bowlers to a second game.

Prior to their match, the two squared off with Ryan Batac and Marcel Mckenzie in a six-game roll-off. Marion still took the lead, knocking down 991 pinfalls with a 165.17 average. Aldan ranked second with 916 pinfalls (152.67 avg.) while Batac and Marcel garnered 735 and 645, respectively.

Aldan started strong in game one, knocking down 199 pins. Marion Mckenzie had yet to catch up with a 130 mark. Aldan pulled ahead with 139 pinfalls in game two.

Marion’s lucky break started in the third game, as the champion tallied 211 pinfalls. He finished off with scores of 175, 150, and 200.

Aldan held on to second place, averaging 152.67 pins per game. He landed 153 in game three, 143 in game four, 125 in game five, and 157 in the final round.

As part of the SBA’s program, only the top three ranking players may progress to the step ladder finals. Mckenzie’s number one rank instantly earned him a finals seat. Aldan bagged 179 pinfalls in the semis, beating Batac’s 110 to advance for the championship.

Despite his loss, Aldan struck the most monthly ‘Prince of the Lanes’ titles for 2010. He dominated in May, June, July, August, October, November, and December. Mckenzie won titles in January, March, and September.

Meanwhile, Batac scored 105, 112, 130, 150, 142, and 96 pinfalls in games one through six. Marcel Mckenzie tallied 112, 134, 110, 87, 91, and 111 pinfalls.
